What is Tradie Pay?

Tradie Pay is a simple and cost-effective service we have developed to assist trade businesses to recover construction debts. It leverages the powerful payment claim regime (see our Payment Claim Factsheet) in the Construction Contracts Act 2002 and provides a streamlined process for helping you recover debt for construction work completed under and covered by the Act. How does Tradie Pay work?

Tradie Pay provides you with a wrap-around, three-stage debt recovery service:

Step 1: we provide you with the tailored documents you need to recover debts fast under the Construction Contracts Act.
Step 2: we prepare and arrange delivery of letters of demand to your debtors at a fixed cost of $350.00 (plus GST & disbursements).
Step 3: if those debtors still refuse to pay, and don’t comply with the strict rules in the Construction Contracts Act, we issue formal proceedings against them on your behalf (at no cost to you except our out-of-pocket expenses such as the court filing and service fees and an office administration fee).

We find that many people still don’t appreciate how powerful the Construction Contracts Act payment claim regime is. If a debtor fails to comply with the strict requirements of the Act, they become liable to pay the debt as well as all costs incurred by you in enforcing payment. No further questions asked.

With Tradie Pay, a few small changes to your debt recovery process can have a big impact on your cashflow.

How much will Tradie Pay cost me?

We believe that access to quality legal services shouldn't break the bank. Recovering debt through Tradie Pay is not going to cost you a significant amount of money, nor will we be ‘clipping the ticket’ on debt recovered.

The initial steps of issuing letters of demands are charged at a fixed price of $350.00 (plus GST & disbursements).

If the debt recovery processes moves to formal proceedings, ultimately all costs incurred to collect that debt are passed to the debtor so you are not out of pocket.
